Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome to February and Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 72nd Birthday of founding member and guitarist, Rich Williams, best known for his work with progressive rockers, Kansas. Happy Birthday Rich ! Along with drummer, Phil Ehart (who celebrates his 72nd Birthday on Friday), he has been on every Kansas album. Today the Kansas album in question is their tenth studio album, Power. Power was released November 28, 1986 on the MCA label and produced by Andrew Powell and Phil Ehart. It was their first record on MCA, having been previously signed to Epic/Kirshner Records. It peaked at #92 in Canada and #35 on the Billboard 200. It's singles were : "Can't Cry Anymore" (#29 Canada Adult Contemporary), "Power" (#84 Hot 100, #38 Mainstream Rock) and "All I Wanted" (#75 Canada, #19 Hot 100, #14 US Adult Contemporary, #10 Mainstream Rock). This album saw a new line with the addition of former Dixie Dregs/ future Deep Purple guitarist, Steve Morse and bassist, Billy Greer, replacing Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope.
