Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. January 8th is a special day, in that it is the Birthday of Elvis, Mother Love Bone front man, Andrew Wood, The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, David Bowie, and Loverboy lead singer, Mike Reno. Happy 68th Birthday Mike ! Mike Reno (Joseph Michael Rynoski) was born January 8, 1955  
New Westminster, British Columbia. In 1979 he met guitarist Paul Dean and they hit it off immediately and a year later Loverboy released their first LP. During their career they released 9 studio albums, 3 live albums, 14 compilations, and 29 singles, but it is their third record, Keep It Up, which is our subject of sound today. Keep It Up was released June 30, 1983 on the Columbia label and produced by Bruce Fairbairn and Paul Dean. It peaked at #25 in Germany, #9 in Canada, and #7 on the Billboard 200 in the US, where it has been certified 2X Platinum. Three singles were released ; "Strike Zone" (#23 Mainstream Rock), "Queen Of The Broken Hearts" (#34 Hot 100, #28 Canada, #11 Mainstream Rock) and "Hot Girls In Love" (#11 Hot 100, #9 Canada, #2 Mainstream Rock).
