Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Manhattan born composer and conductor, Marvin Hamlisch, on what would have been his 76th Birthday. He died in 2012, age 68, from lung failure. To honor his legacy we spotlight the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to The Sting, the 1973 caper film starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. The soundtrack (MCA 1974) was produced by Gil Rodin, features several Scott Joplin ragtime compositions, adapted by Hamlisch. It peaked at #1 in both America and Australia.
