Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Tampa, Florida native, outlaw country musician, actor, and Air Force Veteran, Mel Tillis, on what would have been his 91st Birthday. He was born Lonnie Melvin Tillis to parents Burma and Lonnie Lee Tillis and after a bout with malaria as a child he developed a stutter. During the course of his 6v decade career he recorded over 35 studio albums and released over 15 compilation alums, including this one. S-S-Superstar! was released in 1978 on the RCA label. It is a double compilation record that collects Mel's output from the 70s and is produced by Jim Vienneau. Mel passed away November 19, 2017, age 85, from respiratory failure.
