Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again, Today we celebrate the 58th Birthday of Texas born alternative folk musician , Michelle Shocked . Happy Birthday Michelle ! To commemorate the date, we spotlight her debut album, The Texas Campfire Tapes. The LP was released in 1986 on the Cooking Vinyl label, and takes it's name from an impromptu performance that Shocked gave the head Cooking Vinyl records, Pete Lawrence, during his first trip to America. It was originally recorded using a Sony Walkman. Our copy, a promotional copy, was recently purchased at Treasure House Antiques & Collectibles LLC.
