Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember actress Georgann Johnson, on what would have been her 95th Birthday. She passed away in 2018, age 91. Her six decade career spanned stage, television, and film. She made appearances in "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", James Cagney's "Short Cut to Hell" (1957), Midnight Cowboy, "Three's Company", "Archie Bunker's Place", "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman", and "Seinfeld". I know her as Vice Admiral Gromek in theStar Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Emissary". It's her role in the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy, starring Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight, that is our subject today. She played the role of Rich Lady (don't laugh, I once played the role of Homeless Guy, don't laugh at that either), who encounters Jon Voight's male prostitute character, Joe Buck.
The soundtrack, released in 1969 on Liberty Records, includes a score by John Barry with contributions from Nilsson, The Groop, Leslie Miller, as well as John & Ono's backing band , Elephants Memory.
