Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Not only is it Sunday but also the 61st Birthday of D.C. born vocalist and guitarist, Ian MacKaye, ( Ian Thomas Garner MacKaye) best known as the front man for the hardcore punk band, Minor Threat, the vocalist for the post-hardcore band Fugazi, and the co founder and owner of Dischord Records. Happy Birthday Ian ! Today turning our our table is Minor Threat's first compilation album, conveniently called Minor Threat. It was released in March 1984 on Dischord Records and is comprised of the group's first two EPs, Minor Threat and In My Eyes. Both were released in 1981. The LP features the song "Straight Edge", a track credited with inspiring the Straight Edge lifestyle, a philosophy of no drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, as well as a cover of Paul Revere & the Raiders' 1966 song, "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone".
