Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today the music that's got us bopping and swaying to the beat is second effort by obscure Washington, D.C. based funk band, Osiris. Ozone was released in 1979 on the Marlin label and produced by bandleader and namesake, Reginald "Osiris" Marsh. Two singles were released fronm the 7 track LP ; "Fantality" and "Say You Will" but if the album or singles charted, I can find no evidence. The band led by Osiris, with bassist Tony Jones, keyboardist Maceo Bond, saxman Ron Holloway, bassist Tyrone Brunson, guitarist Brent Mingle, drummer Kenny Jones, and percussionist Jimmy "Sha Sha" Stapleton took their influence from bands like Sly & The Family Stone, Parliament - Funkedelic, and Rare Earth. I will include a couple of links down around the pictures with more info.
