Today we are thrilled to wish singer, composer, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker, and spokesman, Pat Boone, a very Happy 89th Birthday. Happy Birthday Pat ! Throughout his career, he has dipped his musical toes in the waters of pop, country, gospel, jazz, and even a heavy metal cover album. The Jacksonville Floridian has sold more than 45 million albums, had 38 Top 40 hits, appeared in 12 films, hosted his own variety show, is a best- selling author, and for a time held a Billboard record by spending 220 consecutive weeks on the charts with one or more songs each week. Today we spin his 17th album, Moody River. The LP was released in 1961 on the DOT label and peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200 and it's sole single, the title track, "Moody River" reached #18 in the UK, #4 on the Adult Contemporary charts, and #1 on the Hot 100.
