Today we celebrate Harlem born R&B, pop, and jazz singer and songwriter, and actress, Patti Austin, as she celebrates her 73rd Birthday ! Happy Birthday Patti ! She got her start at 4 years old when she performed at the Apollo and by the time she was 15 she was recording commercial jingles and performing as a session musician. In 1981 she signed with Quincey Jones' label Quest and released her 4th studio album, Every Home Should Have One, on September 28, 1981. It was produced by Jones. The record reached #99 in the UK, #36 on the Billboard 200, and #16 on the  Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and gave birth to three singles ; the title track (#62 Hot 100, #55 R&B, #24 Adult Contemporary), "Do You Love Me" (#24 R&B), and the James Ingram duet, "Baby, Come To Me" (#9 R&B, #1 Adult Contemporary, #1 Hot 100).
