Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we celebrate the 74th Birthday of North Carolina native, and guitarist, Wally Bryson, best known for his work in the power pop group, the Raspberries. Happy Birthday Wally ! He was born in 1949 and got his start at age 15 when he joined the group The Mods with future Raspberries members Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley. Soon after adding vocalist Eric Carmen to the mix, they became The Choir, releasing two albums before becoming the Raspberries. Today their sophomore release, Fresh, is turning on our table. Fresh was released November 13, 1972 on Capitol Records and produced by Jimmy Ienner. It peaked at #36 on the Billboard 200 and #32 in Australia and saw the birth of three singles ; "Let's Pretend" (#62 Australia, #35 Hot 100, #13 Canada),"I Wanna Be with You" (#17 Canada, #16 Hot 100, #13 Australia), and "Drivin' Around" (did not chart). We got our copy at that weird little flea market in the plaza at Recker Highway and Coleman Rd in Winter Haven. I think it's a gym now ...
