STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - SIMPLE MINDS - SPARKLE IN THE RAIN

Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was on this day in 1978, that new wave post punk band Simple Minds made their debut live performance  at The Satellite Club, Glasgow. To commemorate the date, we spotlight their sixth studio album, Sparkle In The Rain. The LP was released  February 6, 1984 on the A&M label and produced by Steve Lillywhite. It peaked at #1 in both the UK and New Zealand , #2 in the Netherlands, and #64 in the US. Three singles were released ; Waterfront" (#1 New Zealand, #13 UK), "Speed Your Love to Me"( #20 UK, #46 New Zealand) and  "Up on the Catwalk" ( #27 UK, #44 New Zealand) . It has been certified double Platinum in the UK.
