Good morning stay at home world and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was on this day in 1988 that Sonny Bono, of the pop duo (and marriage) Sonny & Cher was inaugurated as Mayor of Palm Springs, California. Later, in the 90s, he served as a congressman for California's 44th district, until his death in 1998. To honor his storied legacy, we spotlight this Taiwan bootleg version of The Best of Sonny & Chér. The original compilation was released on the Atco label in 1967 and produced by Sonny. It peaked at #23 (#9 Canada) on the Billboard 200, after a whopping 64 weeks on the chart. Our unofficial copy is from Black Cat Record, what Discogs calls a  "a label of questionable legality from Taiwan, catering for US soldiers stationed there". I do not know the date of it's release.
