Good morning people and welcome back to the Monday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Yoday we joyfully celebrate the 77th Birthday of Dallas born singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Stephen Stills, best known for his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, in addition to a highly successful solo career. Happy Birthday Stephen ! With him in mind, we spotlight the second and last effort by his band Manassas. Down The Road was released April 23, 1973 on the Atlantic label and produced by Stills, Chris Hillman and Dallas Taylor. It peaked at #33 in the UK, #31 in Canada, #26 on the Billboard 200, #25 on the Cash Box, #19 in Spain, #18 in Sweden and the Record World charts. Two singles were released from the 10 track album ; the title track (#129 Record World) and "Isn't It About Time" (#77 Canada, #63 Record World, Cash Box, #56 Hot 100). Our copy is autographed by guitarist Chris Hillman, who we met at a show in 2017 at Gran Parsons Derry Down. Joe Walsh and Bobby Whitlock make guest appearances on the disc.
