She passed away in 1998, age 55, following a blood clot in her lung. Her first greatest hits package, Tammy's Greatest Hits was released in 1969 on Epic Records and produced by Billy Sherrill. The record reached #37 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top Country Albums chart. It has been certified Platinum.
