Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning, morning people and welcome back to the Tuesday edition Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Yesterday served a couple of devastating blows to the music world with the passing of famed conductor Ennio Morricone, at 91 years (from complications after a fall) and legendary country music icon, Charlie Daniels at age 86 (suffered a stroke) . Our hearts, thoughts, and Prayers are with the Friends, Family, and Fans. Today we pay tribute by featuring Charlie's vinyl release of the Volunteer Jam III and IV. The Volunteer Jam was an annual concert event Charlie Daniels hosted and headlined and held primarily in Tennessee. The guest list often served as a who's who among Southern rock and country stars and these volumes are no exception, with performers like Willie Nelson, Wet Willie, Sea Level, The Winters Brothers Band, Bonnie Bramlett , Papa John Creach, and Grinderswitch. Lakeland's very own Larry Howard appears on the Grinderswitch selection. III and IV were recorded January 8, 1977 and January 14, 1978 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN and released in 1978 on Epic Records. The event has run 20 years, with the 21st scheduled for September 2020. The fate of that event is uncertain at this time ...
