Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember singer- songwriter, poet, and iconic front man, Jim Morrison of The Doors, on the 49th anniversary of his death. He was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, on this day in 1971. The 27 year olds cause of death was was listed as heart failure, even though no autopsy was performed. To honor his legacy we spotlight the band's self titled debut. The Doors was released January 4, 1967 on the Elektra label and produced by Paul A. Rothchild. The LP peaked at #2 in America and #15 in Canada. Two singles were released ; "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" (#126 America) and what many consider their signature song, "Light My Fire" (#7 New Zealand, #2 Canada, #1 Hot 100, Cash Box). The album has been certified 4X Platinum in the US.
