Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good Monday morning gang (if you believe in such things ) and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Christopher Gordon Blandford Wood, British born saxophonist / flautist and founding member of progressive psychedelic jazz jam rock band, Traffic, on this, the 38th anniversary of his passing. The musician known simply as Chris Wood died in 1983, of pneumonia at age 39. To honor his legacy, we spotlight the debut LP by Traffic. Mr. Fantasy if you've got the UK release or Heaven Is In Your Mind, if you have the US release. Dave Mason left the band shortly after UK release, so for the US release the track list arrangement was altered and the group photo as well to not include Mason. Our record says Heaven Is In You Mind while the album cover says Mr. Fantasy. The catalogue numbers indicate that both are the US release, so maybe this is a misprint. I'm not sure. I thoroughly enjoyed the album, despite Dave Mason being on there ....
