Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today our selection is the eponymous release from the British progressive rock outfit, Trickster. Trickster was formed in 1976 by guitarist/vocalist Philip Bates and released one single on the United Artists label before meeting Don Arden, who whisked them away to ELO's label Jet. There they released two albums, Find The Lady from 1977 and Back To Zero from 1979. They toured with ELO, Boston, Journey, and Foreigner. The next year the band disbanded, Bates went on to join ELO II as lead guitarist, songwriter and joint lead vocalist from 1993-1999 and then its successor band The Orchestra from 2007 - 2011. But back to the Trickster LP. Somewhere between the release of the two aforementioned albums, Jet repackaged the first album as the self titled Trickster. Our copy is a promotional copy from the radio station, WPRK, in Winter Park, FL. This album and a ton of other promotional items came from opur dear friends at the now Legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
