Good morning Thursday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Louisiana born honky-tonk vocalist, songwriter and guitarist, Webb Pierce, on this, the 31st anniversary of his passing. He died in 1991, age 69, from pancreatic cancer. With him in mind, we spotlight his 23rd studio album, Webb Pierce Sings This Thing. The LP was released in 1969 on Decca Records and reached #32 on the Top Country Albums chart. "If I Had Last Night To Live Over" (#32 Country Singles, #20 Country Cash Box) and "This Thing" (#17 Country Cash Box, #14 Country Singles) were released as singles. The cover, which we don't have, features Pierce standing in front of his guitar shaped swimming pool which became a tourist attraction drawing 3,000 people a week. Eventually Pierce's neighbors, led by Ray Stevens, grew tired of the tourism and filed suit to end the tours.
