STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - WILLIE AND THE POOR BOYS - WILLIE AND THE POOR BOYS

Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we wish English drummer, Kenney Jones, best known for his work in Small Faces, Faces, and the Who, a very Happy 74th Birthday. Happy Birthday Kenney ! With him in mind, we spotlight the self titled debut album by Willie And The Poor Boys. The LP was released April 22, 1985 on Passport Records and produced by Bill Wyman. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 but it's sole single,  "Baby Please Don't Go". The group is led by the Rolling Stones bassist, Bill Wyman, who recruited Charlie Watts (drums), Kenney Jones (drums), Jimmy Page (guitar), Paul Rodgers (vocals), Chris Rea (vocals), Andy Fairweather-Low (guitar), Geraint Watkins (keyboards), Mickey Gee (guitar), and Henry Spinetti (drums), in order to produce a charity album to help Ronnie Lane's Action into Research for Multiple Sclerosis. Guest musicians include Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers. The album hosts 12 tracks of  blues, R&B, swing, and rock and roll. Our copy still has a order form inside for the Willie And The Poor Boys VHS tape.
