STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - SUPERMAN III (ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK ) - VARIOUS ARTISTS

Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember New York City native, actor, film director, author, and activist, Christopher D'Olier Reeve, best known for his portrayal of the title role in Superman The Movie and it's three sequels. He was born September 25, 1952 to parents Franklin D'Olier Reeve,  a teacher, novelist, poet, and scholar, and Barbara Pitney Lamb, a journalist. He passed away October 10, 2004, age 52, from cardiac arrest after receiving an antibiotic for infection. He IS definitely my Superman and the standard bearer as far as I'm concerned for anyone else who steps near the role. Today we have him via the Original Sound Track to Superman III. The film, directed by Richard Lester from a screenplay by David Newman and Leslie Newman, stars Reeve in the triple role of Clark Kent, Superman, and Evil Superman, along with Richard Pryor, Jackie Cooper, Marc McClure, Annette O'Toole, Annie Ross, Pamela Stephenson, Robert Vaughn, and Margot Kidder. The plot finds Clark returning to Smallville for a high school reunion while Richard Pryor's character Gus Gorman plots with CEO Ross Webster to create Kryptonite with a super computer. The movie and soundtrack were released June 17, 1983 ( the film through Columbia, the record through WB). Side 1 of the LP features a score by Ken Thorne, while Side 2 has music created by  Giorgio Moroder performed by various artists. We have the first three Superman soundtracks on vinyl, the soundtrack to Somewhere In Time, Christopher Reeve's autobiography, Still Me, a paperback copy of The Last Son OF Krypton and this really cool metal box DVD edition of the Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition (Superman / Superman II / Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut / Superman III / Superman IV: The Quest for Peace / Superman Returns).
