First up we have Chicago born record producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer, Quincy Jones, celebrating his 87th Birthday. Happy  Birthday Quincy ! With him in mind, we spotlight his 1989 Warner Bros. single, "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)". The track hails from the album Back On The Block, and reached #1 on the R&B charts,  #31 on the Hot 100, #26 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and #67 on the UK Singles Chart. Our second selection on the Birthday calendar belongs to 51 year old Minnesota born drummer Michael Bland, best known for his work with Prince's backing band New Power Generation. Happy Birthday Michael !  His Birthday track is the 1992 Paisley Park release "Sexy M.F.", from the Love Symbol album. "Sexy M.F." peaked at #76 on the R&B charts, #66 on the Hot 100, and #4 in the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands. It's B-side is the much less profane, "Strollin'". Our copy is on cassette single.
