STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - McGUINNESS FLINT

Good morning and greetings from the Stuck In The Vinyl Again,  Corona Apocalypse Bunker.  We are staying home as much as possible and distancing ourselves socially. We hope this Sunday finds you in good spirits and well health. Today we gleefully celebrate the 80th Birthday of English drummer  Hughie Flint , who early on in his career played with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, later on with Savoy Brown, and in between he co-founded this group, McGuinness Flint. It is their self titled debut record, that we tune into today.  McGuinness Flint, formed by drummer Flint, and  former Manfred Mann guitarist Tom McGuinness,  keyboardist Dennis Coulson,  and songwriting  duo, Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle released the aforementioned record in 1970 on the Capitol label. The album's sole single,   "When I'm Dead and Gone" peaked at #2 in the UK, #5 in Ireland, #31 in Canada, #35 on the Cash Box charts and #47 on the Hot 100. Their sound can best be described as folk rock with shades of country and blues.
