SATURDAY'S SINGLES - REO SPEEDWAGON and PARLIAMENT

Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. It was on this day in 1946 that Evansville, Indiana native and keyboardist, Neal Doughty was born . He is best known for his work in  REO Speedwagon, which he co founded with original drummer, Alan Gratzer, and is the only bandmember to appear on all the group's albums. Today he is celebrating his 77th Birthday and we are celebrating him by spinning the tune "In Your Letter". The song, written by  Gary Richrath and then produced by Gary,  Kevin Beamish, and Kevin Cronin was released in July 1981 on the Epic label. It hails from their 9th studio album, Hi Infidelity and peaked at #100 in Australia, #34 in Canada, #28 on the Cash Box and Record World charts, #26 on the Adult Contemporary survey, #20 on the Hot 100, and #17 on Radio And Records. It is b/w  "Shakin' It Loose", also from Hi Infidelity.
