Good morning, morning people and welcome to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember French actor, Louis Jourdan, on what would have been his 99th Birthday. He passed away in 2015, age 93, from natural causes. Among his acting credits are Kamal Khan, in the James Bond film, Octopussy, Dr. Anton Arcane in both Swamp Thing and Return Of The Swamp Thing, Count Dracula in the made for TV movie, Dracula, and Gaston Lachaille in the 1958 film "Gigi". The latter is our subject of focus today. "Gigi", the  musical-romance film directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Leslie Caron ,Maurice Chevalier, Louis Jourdan, Hermione Gingold, Eva Gabor, Jacques Bergerac, Isabel Jeans, John Abbott, and Marie-Hélène Arnaud was released May 15, 1958 by MGM. The screenplay and lyrics are by  Alan Jay Lerner, the music by Frederick Loewe,  and it's arranged and conducted by André Previn. The story itself  is based off a 1944 novella by Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette and centers on a budding romance between wealthy young bon vivant Gaston (Jourdan) and Gigi (Leslie Caron).

The original cast sound track was released the same year on MGM Records.
