STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS - CONFRONTATION

Good morning gang and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember reggae drummer,  Carlton Barrett, on this the 33rd anniversary of his murder. The Wailers' drummer was gunned down in front of his home, age 36. Later his wife,  Albertine and two men were convicted of his murder, but the men only served a year as a result of a technicality and all three were eventually freed. To honor Carlton's legacy, we spotlight the final album by Bob Marley And The Wailers, Confrontation. Confrontation, a posthumous release (Marley had died of cancer in 1981, he was 36 as well) was released May 23, 1983 on the Tuff Gong/Island label and produced by Bob Marley & the Wailers,  Errol Brown, and Rita Marley.  It peaked at #55 on the Billboard 200, #31 on the R&B charts and #6 in New Zealand. It's sole single, "Buffalo Soldier" reached #14 in Austria, #10 in Norway, and #3 in New Zealand. Our copy does not have it's album cover, but I'll include a stock photo, so we know what it looks like ...
