STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - BUFORD PUSSER, W.R. MORRIS - WALKING TALL SHERIFF BUFORD PUSSER TALKS WITH W.R. MORRIS

Good Thursday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Pauline Mullins, Wife of "Walking Tall" Sheriff, Buford Pusser. Pauline was murdered in an assassination attempt, meant for her husband, on this date in 1967. Pusser was the youngest Sheriff ever elected in  McNairy County, Tennessee and became a household name after waging a one man war on the crime organizations, the Dixie Mafia and the State Line Mob. His story was originally told in the 1973 movie Walking Tall and three books by W.R. Morris, The Twelfth of August: The Story of Buford Pusser (1971), Buford: True Story of "Walking Tall" Sheriff Buford Pusser (1984), and The State Line Mob: A True Story of Murder and Intrigue (1990). Pusser survived seven stabbings and eight shootings before dying in a car accident on August 21, 1974.

Our focus today is this 1974 Compass Records release, Walking Tall Sheriff Buford Pusser Talks With W.R. Morris. The record features interviews with Pusser, Pusser's Mom Helen, as well as songs about Buford by rockabilly musician Eddie Bond. Also included in the album is a biographical insert with info and photos. This fine purchase came from the now Legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
