Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 67th Birthday of Pennsylvania born guitarist, Bryan Bassett, best known for his work in the bands, Foghat, Molly Hatchet and Wild Cherry. Happy Birthday Bryan ! To mark the occasion, we spotlight Wild Cherry's self titled debut album. The LP was released June of 1976 on Epic Records and produced by guitarist/vocalist, Robert Parissi. It peaked at #17 in Norway, #12 in the Netherlands, #5 on the Billboard 200, and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Two singles were released, the non charting "I Feel Sanctified" and their best known and most successful song, "Play That Funky Music" (#46 Germany, #7 UK, #1 Hot 100 and R&B).
