STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - CAT STEVENS - NUMBERS

Good morning Tuesday people and welcome back to Stuck In The vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 72nd Birthday of British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Cat Stevens (later Yusef Islam). Happy Birthday Cat ! To commemorate the date, we spotlight his ninth studio album, and his first concept album, Numbers. Numbers was released November 30, 1975 on the A&M label and produced by Cat Stevens. The LP peaked at #14 in Norway, #13 in the US, #9 in Sweden, and #4 in Canada. It has been certified Gold. The sides of the album are marked as 1 and 0 and the lyric booklet is missing. The story within is about a fictional planet called  Polygor, where a numbers machine that issues numbers to the rest of the universe, resides. The album marked a noticeable shift away from Steven's pop sensibilities towards more eclectic songwriting.
