STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - CHER - FOXY LADY

Good morning , morning people and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 76th Birthday of California born singer, actress and television personality, Cher ( real name :  Cherilyn Sarkisian). Happy Birthday Cher ! Known as the Goddess of Pop, she has sold over 100 million records during her 6 decade career, but it is her 8th studio recording, Foxy Lady, which is our subject of sound today. Foxy Lady was released July 10, 1972 on the Kapp label and produced by Snuff Garrett and Sonny Bono. It peaked at #43 on the Billboard 200 and #39 in Canada. Two singles were released ; "Living In A House Divided" (#61 Australia, #42 ADISQ, #22 Hot 100, #21 Cash Box, #17 Canada RPM, #14 Canada Adult Contemporary, #2  Billboard Easy Listening)  and "Don't Hide Your Love" (#50 Cash Box, #46 Hot 100, #44 Canada RPM, #32 Canada Adult Contemporary, #19 Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks). The album's closer is a cover of Hoyt Axton's "Never Been to Spain" and it is a good cover, but I can't help to think a cover of the Hendrix classic "Foxy Lady" would have been more appropriate .
