Today we celebrate the 72nd Birthday of English songwriter, Bernie Taupin, best known for his collaborative works with Elton John since 1967. Happy Birthday Bernie ! To get the party started we find ourselves spinning Greatest Hits by Elton John. The LP was released November 1974 on the MCA label and produced by Gus Dudgeon. The 10 track record, his 11th overall and first greatest hits package, covers the years 1969–1974 and peaked at #67 in Japan, #43 in Germany, #16 in the Netherlands, #8 in France, #6 in Finland,  #5 in New Zealand, #3 in Norway, and #1 in Australia, Canada, the UK, and America, where it has been certified 17X Platinum.
