STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - ENOCH LIGHT AND THE LIGHT BRIGADE - VIBRATIONS

Great Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember  Canton, Ohio native, classically trained violinist, danceband leader, and recording engineer, Enoch Light, on the 45th anniversary of his passing. He was born August 18, 1907 and is best known for his Persuasive Percussion and Provocative Percussion albums of the mid-'50s, his early use of stereo effects called "Ping-pong recording", multi-track recording, gatefold albums, and using 35mm film to record instead of magnetic tape. He was a successful bandleader in the BIG BAND era and later founded both Award and Command Records. In between the years 1959–71, he released 25 albums, two of them number ones and in the same year he died Casey Kasem reported that Light held the record for the having the most charting LPs without having a Top 40 single. He retired from the industry in 1974 and passed away July 31, 1978, age 71. Today we have this 1962 release from Command, Vibrations by Enoch Light And The Light Brigade.
