STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - LAKESIDE - UNTOUCHABLES

Good morning Sunday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today our record of choice is Untouchables by Ohio based funk band, Lakeside. The LP, their 7th, was released in 1983 on Solar Records and produced by the band. It is a concept album and the cover features artwork of the band dressed as FBI agents. It peaked at #42 on the Billboard 200 and #10 on the R&B charts. It's singles were : "Turn the Music Up" (#38 R&B), "Real Love" (#17 R&B), and "Raid" (#8 R&B) . Influenced by Ohio Express, the group originally called themselves, Ohio Lakeside Express, but were convinced by the label to drop Ohio and Express. Our copy is a German release and was purchased at the now Legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk. If you noticed the name 'Bo Dollar' is written on the front cover. At the time the owner of The Trunk had bought a bunch of rap/hip hop type records and the name was written on some of them, so we began to lovingly refer to those LPs and any other in that vein,  as the 'Bo Dollar Section' ...
