Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Staten Island native and drummer, Billy Bennett (William Martin Bennett) on the 23rd anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2000, age 56. He is best know n as the second drummer in the proto punk and novelty band, Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs. Today we have him on their 4th studio album, Lil' Red Riding Hood. The LP was released in June 1966 on the MGM label and produced by Stan Kesler. The record reached #82 on the Billboard 200 and it's sole single, the title track peaked at #46 in the UK, and #2 in both Canada and the US. It was held off from the #1 spopt in the US by both "Wild Thing" by The Troggs and "Summer in the City" by The Lovin' Spoonful.
