Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we cheerfully wish New Jersey born musician, singer, songwriter, actor and producer, Paul Simon, a very Happy 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Paul. He is best known for his partnership with Art Garfunkel in the folk rock duo, Simon & Garfunkel, one one the bestselling musical acts of the 60s. It is their third studio album, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, that is our focus today. The LP was released  October 24, 1966 on the Columbia label and produced by Bob Johnston. It peaked at #14 in Australia, #13 in the UK, and #4 in America where it has been certified 3X Platinum. Four singles were released : "Homeward Bound" (#20 Australia, #12 Sweden, #9 UK, #4 Netherlands, #1 New Zealand), "The Dangling Conversation" (#85 Australia, #25 Hot 100), "Scarborough Fair/Canticle" (#49 Australia, #11 Hot 100, #5 Adult Contemporary), and "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" (did not chart). The front cover photo was taken by Bob Cato and the liner notes were written by music critic Ralph J. Gleason.
