Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we we remember English actor, singer-songwriter and director, Anthony Newley, on what would have been his 89th Birthday. He passed away in 1999, age 67 from renal cancer. To honor his legacy, we spotlight the original cast soundtrack to The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd, a musical by Newley and Leslie Bricusse.  The LP was released in 1965 on the RCA Victor label. The story revolves around the pair Sir (Cyril Ritchard) and Cocky (Newley) as they maneuver life in 1960s Britain. The cast is rounded out by Sally Smith as The Kid, Joyce Jillson as The Girl, and Gilbert Price as The Negro. The music is conducted by Herbert Grossman.
