STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - THE RUTLES

Good morning fellow shut ins and vinyl lovers of the world. Today we welcome you to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was on this day in 1978 that ABC television aired the mockumentary style Beatles parody film, All You Need Is Cash by The Rutles. The Rutles, a fictional musical spoof of The Beatles,  were created and formed by Eric Idle (of Monty Python) and Neil Innes (of  the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band). The film starred Idle and Innes as the parody versions of Paul and John,  John Halsey as the Ringo character, and Ricky Fataar as George. Others appearances include Michael Palin, the real George Harrison, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, and Bill Murray, to name a few. The film's soundtrack, titled, The Rutles, is our subject today.  The Rutles was released in March of 1978 on the Warner Brothers label and produced by Neil Innes. The LP peaked at #63 on the Billboard 200.
