Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles, a Number Ones edition. Our first chart topper was the first rock 'n roll song to hit #1 one in the US. "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley & His Comets, was originally released May 20, 1954 on Decca Records and Milt Gabler. The tune, written by Max C. Freedman and James E. Myers, not only clenched the top spot in the US, where it stayed for two months, it also reached #1 in Australia, the UK, and the Cash Box charts. It's flip side is "Thirteen Women (And Only One Man in Town)".

It peaked at #1 on the Canada Adult Contemporary charts, the Canada Dance/Urban charts, on the Canada Top Singles, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, the UK, the Hot 100, the US Disco Top 80, the US Hot Soul Singles, the Cash Box, and the US Record World Singles charts. It's B-side is
"If I Could Feel That Old Feeling Again".
