Good morning gang and welcome back to Saturday's Singles, a Songs I've Never Heard Before edition. That's right folks, today we have selected two 45s that had never graced our eardrums before our listening to them last night. First up we have "Joy To The World" by Dale Beaty. I cannot find a lot of info on this selection. The song is on TAB Records and I can find it on Discogs but I cannot find a release year. TAB Records was owned by a guy named Eddie Bond who also released songs on the label and wrote the song on the B-side, "Time". If I had to describe the sound, I'd liken it to George Jones in the 70s. Our copy appears to be autographed and reads 'Thanks Dale Beaty'. I found one song on YouTube by Dale, and it wasn't this one.

Our second selection is "Abe Snake For President" by Ben Dover. It was released on Roadapple Records in 1979. Ben Dover, whose real name is Rick Snyder, is an Atlanta, GA based country and comedy musician. He formed a duo with Pat Coletta, who performed as Tennessee Tucker. Abe Snake For President" is a cover of the 1952 song by Stan Freburg. The B-side is great ! It's a song called "The Great Outdoor Concert". It's something along the lines of Ray Stevens or Jim Stafford. I can find plenty of songs by the duo online, but not these. I will be recording them and uploading later today.
A: Abe Snake For President
B: The Great Outdoor Concert
