Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles, a Birthday edition. It was on this day in 1954, that German bassist, Francis Buchholz, known for his long tenure with the rock band Scorpions (from 1973 - 1992) was born. Today he is celebrating his 68th Birthday. Happy Birthday Francis ! To get his party started we find ourselves spinning the 1988 Mercury single, "Passion Rules the Game". The tune, from their 10th album, Savage Amusement, was produced by Dieter Dierks and peaked at #74 on the UK Singles chart and features "Media Overkill" as it's B-side. It is from Savage Amusement as well.

The song, a cover of Steve Miller's classic, reached #81 in Australia, #61 in Germany, #38 in Switzerland, #29 in New Zealand, #13 in the UK, and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
