First up in our way back machine is the song "Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)" by Chicago beased sunshine pop band, The Buckinghams. Their bassist, Nick Fortuna is celebrating his 75th Birthday today. Happy Birthday Nick ! "Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)" was released in 1967 on the Columbia label and produced by James William Guercio. The single reached #12 on the Hot 100, #9 on the Record World charts, #5 on the Cash Box, and #2 in Canada. The track hailed from their third album, Portraits, while it's B-side, "And Our Love", came from their second record, Time And Changes.

Our second Saturday's singles, "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter", by English beat rock and pop group, Herman's Hermits, was #1 on this day in 1965. The song, from their self titled debut was released in April 1965 on the MGM label and produced by Mickie Most. It also reached #1 in Canada, South Africa, and Australia. The flip side features, "I Gotta Dream On" would be released on their second US album, Herman's Hermits On Tour.
