Happy Birthday Tommy ! On this day we spin his 1969 bubblegum pop hit, "Jam Up and Jelly Tight". The tune released on ABC Records and hailing from the album, 12 In A Roe: A Collection of Tommy Roe's Greatest Hits, reached #8 on the Hot 100 and #5 in both Canada and Australia. It's flip side is "Moontalk", a non album track.

Our second Saturday's Singles selection comes to us via Illinois based rock band Cheap Trick. Their bassist, Tom Petersson, is celebrating his 70th Birthday today. Happy Birthday Tom ! To commemorate the date, we spotlight "Voices" by Cheap Trick. "Voices" was released in 1979 on the Epic label. It peaked at #32 on the Hot 100, #30 on the Cash Box, #16 in Austria, and #12 in Canada. It's B-side is "The House Is Rockin' (With Domestic Problems)". Both songs are from their 4th album, Dream Police.
