Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning gang and welcome back to Saturday's Singles. First up, we send a BIG Birthday wish to Philadelphia born (and raised) actor, rapper, and film producer, Will Smith (once known as The Fresh Prince). He was born on this day in 1968 and is turning 53 today, so Happy Birthday Will ! We celebrate by pushing play on this 1999 cassette single, "Wild, Wild West". The song came from Wild Wild West: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture, but does not appear in the film, but Will does. It peaked at #8 in Australia, #5 in Austria, #4 in Sweden, #3 in Belgium and Germany, #2 in the Netherlands, UK, and New Zealand, and #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Will is joined on the track by Kool Moe Dee and Dru Hill. The flipside is the tune, "Y'all Know" from his debut solo album, Big Willie Style.

Our second selection comes to us via English rock band Led Zeppelin. Today marks the 41st anniversary of the death of their Legendary drummer John Bonham, who died at age 32 from pulmonary aspiration, after a bout of heavy binge drinking. We honor his legacy with giving the 45 "Over the Hills and Far Away" a spin. The song, from their 5th studio album, Houses Of The Holy, was released May 24th, 1973 on the Atlantic label. It reached #63 in Canada, #51 on the Hot 100, #31 on the Record World chart, and #28 on the Cash Box Top Singles chart. The B-side features "Dancing Days", a #3 song on the Mainstream Rock charts, and also from Houses Of The Holy.
