Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. Today we dive a little into hair bands. Yes those bands from the 80s and 90s with BIG hair, mascara and spandex. First up, under our needle is "Madalaine" by New York city based band, Winger. The tune, hailing from their self titled debut was released May 1988 on Atlantic Records was written by Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Beau Hill, and produced by Hill. It peaked at #27 on the Mainstream rock charts. It was backed with the song, "Higher and Higher" as our picture sleeve indicates, but our actual 45 is a promotional with the Radio Edit of "Madalaine" on one side and the LP Version on the other. I lie Winger, don;t get me wrong, but I will always associate them with Stuart, the kid on Beavis and Butthead who wears a Winger t-shirt.
Kip Winger – bass, lead vocals, keyboards, string arrangements
Reb Beach – guitars, backing vocals
Paul Taylor – keyboards, backing vocals
Rod Morgenstein – drums, backing vocals

It was written by Mike Tramp and Vito Bratta and then produced by Michael Wagener for Atlantic Records. It peaked at #65 in Canada, #52 on the Hot 100, and #12 on the Mainstream Rock charts. It's B-side is "Let's Get Crazy", also from Big Game. We have the picture sleeve for this one as well.
