Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. On this day in 1942, Capitol Records started a marketing trend, by being the first record company to give a radio station a record in hopes of getting played. It worked and the promotional record was born. To mark the occasion, we spotlight this June 1964 release, Great New Releases From The Sound Capitol Of The World. The LP collects hits from Al Martino, Freddy Martin, George Shearing, Tennessee Ernie Fords and others. All these type of records that we've featured came from the now Legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
