Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Sir George Martin, the famed Beatles producer, known as the 5th Beatles, who also worked with America, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Jeff Beck, John Williams, Neil Sedaka, Kenny Rogers, UFO, Cheap Trick, Elton John, Little River Band, and Celine Dion, among others. Today marks 4 years since he passed away in his sleep, age 90. To illustrate his legacy we spotlight John Barry's Goldfinger (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with Shirley Bassey performing the title track, produced by Martin. The soundtrack was released in 1964 on EMI. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200. The title theme reached #21 in the UK, #8 on the Hot 100, and #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts.
