SITVA - THE COWSILLS- CAPTAIN SAD AND HIS SHIP OF FOOLS

Good morning Monday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 64th Birthday of John Cowsill, best known as a vocalist and drummer for the sibling psychedelic pop band, The Cowsills. Happy Birthday John ! To help make this date great, we find ourselves spinning their 4th studio album,  Captain Sad And His Ship Of Fools. The LP was released in 1968 on MGM Records and produced by Wes Farrell and Bob and Bill Cowsill. It reached #105 on the Billboard 200 and the disc's sole single, "Indian Lake" peaked at #10  on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on the Cash Box charts, and #3 in Canada. The album is considered a concept album following the pursuits of the title character Captain Sad. Our copy is the gatefold version with the "Indian Lake" sticker on the front cover.
