Good morning gang and welcome back to the Tuesday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was during this week in 1985 that the romantic drama, Perfect, starring John Travolta, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anne De Salvo, Marilu Henner, Laraine Newman, Matthew Reed, and Jann Wenner. The story centers on Rolling Stone reporter, Adam Lawrence (Travolta) who is assigned to write a series of articles on the increased interest in aerobics. There he meets the instructor Jessie Wilson (Curtis)and their rocky romance begins. The film, directed and produced by James Bridges, opened on June 7th. Three days prior, the Original Soundtrack Album was released on Arista Records. That soundtrack is our soundtrack for the day.
The disc was produced by Ralph Burns and features artists such as Wham, Lou Reed, Berlin, The Thompson Twins, and two songs by Jermaine Jackson, including a duet with Whitney Houston. It also includes a track by the Pointer Sisters, and we'd like to take this time, upon hearing of Bonnie Pointer's death yesterday, to wish her fans, Family, and friends our heartfelt condolences. Rest in peace Bonnie.
