Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning Sunday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we are thrilled to wish Massachusetts native, founding member, lead guitarist, backing and occasional lead vocalist of the rock band Aerosmith, Joe Perry (Joseph Anthony Pereira), a very Happy 73rd Birthday. Happy Birthday Joe ! He was born September 10, 1950 and during the 60s formed the The Jam Band with Tom Hamilton. Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer. That band then became Aerosmith and over the course of their 53 year career they have released 15 studio albums, six live albums, 16 compilation albums, and two extended plays, but it is their ninth studio album, Permanent Vacation, turning on our table today. The LP was released August 25, 1987 on Geffen Records and produced by Bruce Fairbairn. It peaked at #50 in Japan, #42 in Australia, #37 in the UK, #16 in Canada, and #11 in the US, where it has been certified 5X Platinum. Four singles were released ; the promotional single, "Hangman Jury" (#14 Mainstream Rock Songs), "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" (#45 UK, #41 Dance Club Songs, #22 Canada, #14 Hot 100, #4 Mainstream Rock), "Angel" (#3 Hot 100, #2 Mainstream Rock), and "Rag Doll" (#42 UK, #29 Ireland, #23 Canada Top Singles, #19 Dutch Top 40, #17 Hot 100, #16 Netherlands, #12 Mainstream Rock, Italy, and #9 Canada Retail Sales). We purchased our copy a couple of years back from Lakeland's very own Jesse Carl Vinyl and we have both cassette and CD copies as well.
